Do I need to book in to come and visit?

Julia sees our brides-to-be by appointment only, as we are not an actual bridal store.

Our latest collection is available for viewing at your initial consultation.

(Samples are a size 8-10, which we understand will not suit everyone to be able to try on.)

Our collections are created to showcase our unique style, to inspire brides and can be a starting point for custom gowns.

The majority of our bridalwear that we create is custom designed for individual brides.

There is a $50 charge for an initial wedding dress consultation.

What is the design process?

An Elizabeth May wedding gown is not just a dress, but a beautiful and exciting journey from concept to completion, and you are involved each step of the way – from your first consultation where we discuss design ideas, fabric options and we take your measurements, to each stage when you come for your fittings – ideas are tweaked and it is a very organic process towards the final version of your gown.

All Elizabeth May gowns are created as bespoke custom designs for every bride. All designs are made-to-measure to create a gown with the perfect silhouette, design lines, proportions and embellishments for each bride.

Your initial consultation is for an hour with Julia, then we require to 3 to 5 fittings to ensure the perfect fit for you.

Where will the gown be created and by whom?

Every Elizabeth May gown is created in house – literally. Our workroom is in Julia’s home.

From design, to pattern, to cutting, to sewing and embellishing, Julia is hands on every step of the way, and works alongside the talent and skills of her team.

How long does it take to create a gown?

6 to 8 months is an ideal timeframe to create your wedding gown within.

However, we can possibly create your gown in a shorter timeframe depending on season and availability.

How much does a custom gown cost?

Custom gowns start from $3000.

How can I pay?

We require a 50% deposit before work commences, once you have confirmed your design.

The final 50% must be paid before your final handover consultation.

Payments to be made by bank transfer.

How do I make a booking?

Bookings can be made through our contact form on our website.

Or you can email us at [email protected].
